What is it?
The Algorithmic Newsletter is a fortnightly briefing on how companies put AI and new technology to work in their operations, from computer vision and document AI to predictive analytics and automation, and on the results they have published. Each issue draws on published research, company results and industry data.
We've spent close to a decade in this industry, which lets us share findings that are practical and hands-on. We look forward to having you join our community.
Our approach. What every issue gives you.
We take our time with each issue. Every one that reaches your inbox is deeply researched, drawing on websites, company reports, social media, events and the wider industry, then written up with our own read on what it all means. We keep it short, about the length of a single espresso.
Useful
You can apply what you read in your operations now, with real examples.
Clear
Complex systems in plain language, with the numbers and no jargon.
Candid
The trade-offs, the costs, and what is not ready yet.
Worth your time
A five-minute read every fortnight. We filter the noise so you do not have to.
Who reads our newsletter?Operations, quality and finance leaders.
We write for operations, quality and finance leaders, and the executives they report to, across the industries below. Whether your team is new to AI or already running it, every issue helps you stay on top of what works.
Food and FMCG manufacturing
Quality and plant leaders, where a missed defect or wrong label can become a recall.
Logistics, freight and warehousing
Operations and finance leaders, where re-keyed paperwork turns into billing and delivery disputes.
Packaging and converting
Production and quality leaders, where a print or seal fault means scrapped stock and rejected orders.
Pharma and life sciences
Quality and compliance leaders, where a wrong label or batch record fails an audit.
Wholesale and distribution
Operations and finance leaders, where miscounts and mis-picks eat into margin.
Discrete manufacturing
Quality and production leaders, where a defect found late means rework or a warranty claim.
Agriculture and fresh produce
Operations and quality leaders, where uneven grading and spoilage cut yield and price.
Retail and e-commerce
Operations and merchandising leaders, where empty shelves, returns and messy data cost sales.
Energy and utilities
Operations and maintenance leaders, where an asset fault noticed too late means downtime.
Construction and infrastructure
Site and safety leaders, where a hazard caught late becomes an incident or a delay.
Insurance and financial services
Claims and operations leaders, where reading documents by hand is slow and costly.
Waste and recycling
Operations and plant leaders, where contamination and mis-sorted material cut recovery value.
