Algorithmic was started by Sanket and Yuriy while they were studying together in Genova, Italy. They have both spent over a decade each in software engineering and machine learning, specialising in two distinct verticals of advanced computer vision. That gave them complementary expertise in how machines interpret the physical world, and more importantly, what it takes to build robust software systems that make these algorithms work in production.

Algorithmic was founded to provide ambitious teams with the technical rigour typically reserved for academia and high-level R&D. What began as a specialised consultancy has evolved into a premier engineering studio. Our collective is comprised of senior engineers and published researchers with advanced degrees in Computer Science, Robotics, and Automation. We share a singular commitment to delivering architectural integrity through rigorous software engineering best practices, ensuring technical precision from the very first line of code.

M.Sc. in Robotics Engineering from the University of Genoa and Warsaw University of Technology (Erasmus Mundus, full scholarship). Former AI researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology, building deep learning solutions for Fortune 100 companies. Published at CVPR and ICRA. Both founders are embedded in every engagement, owning delivery end-to-end.

Common questions

What does founder-led mean in practice?

It means a co-founder is on your Slack, reviewing your pull requests, and attending your sprint reviews. We do not delegate to junior engineers or hand you off to a project manager after the first call. The people you meet during the initial conversation are the same people who architect and build your system.

Both founders come from research backgrounds. How does that translate into delivery?

Both founders spent formative years in academic research and refined their craft in the domain of machine learning, which sits at the intersection of mathematics, systems engineering, and software architecture. That foundation shows up in how we approach every engagement: architecture decisions are evidence-based, models are validated against business metrics rather than leaderboard scores, and systems are built to be measured, monitored, and improved over time.

Why are you remote-first?

This is an intentional choice. We believe people deliver their best work when they have the freedom to work from an environment that suits them. Being remote-first also means we are not limited by geography in who we serve. We have worked with clients across more than 15 countries and want to continue bringing what we have to offer in software development and design to organisations worldwide.

Where is the team based?

We are headquartered in London with team members across Europe and Asia. We operate as a remote-first company, building for the world. Our clients span over 15 countries, and we structure our communication and delivery processes to maintain velocity and depth regardless of location or time zone.
